Frequently asked questions.

What’s the difference between sourdough & store-bought bread made with commercial yeast?

Fresh sourdough bread is different than store-bought bread in many ways. Sourdough is made with a different kind of yeast called wild yeast. In comparison to commercial yeast, wild yeast is richer in nutrients, promotes good gut health, is easier to digest, contains lower amounts of gluten, and allows your bread to have a lower glycemic index. Not only will your fresh sourdough bread taste great, but it will also be great for your health.

Where are you located?

We are located in Hilliard, Ohio off of Cemetery Road. Our business does not have a storefront, as our baked goods are home produced. When you place your order, you will be provided with details regarding our contactless pickup at your chosen pickup time.

What is the best way to store my sourdough?

We suggest storing your sourdough in an airtight plastic container once it has been cut to ensure the inside of the bread stays soft. Before slicing, bread may be stored in a linen bag or wrapped in a dish towel. This will help maintain the crispy sourdough crust.

Can I freeze my sourdough?

Yes! We suggest you wrap your sourdough in plastic wrap, place in a freezer bag, and store in the freezer. It will stay fresh for several months. When you remove it from the freezer, set it on the counter the night before you plan to eat your bread to let it thaw overnight. You may also pre-slice your sourdough before freezing and pull out individual slices as you need them. Be sure to wrap tightly in plastic wrap.

My bread is beginning to feel stale and I have a lot left. What can I do?

This is a trick we love! Briefly run your entire loaf of sourdough under water (It’s ok if part has been sliced off, but we don’t recommend using this method if the whole loaf has been sliced). You could also use a spray bottle to mist the loaf. Then bake directly on the oven rack at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. This will give your bread that crispy crust again. If part of your loaf was sliced off, the exposed interior of the bread will have the texture of toast, but the rest of the bread inside the loaf will be soft and fresh again. Before using this method, be sure to check the exterior of your loaf for any signs of mold. Since we do not use any preservatives in our bread, your sourdough will be fresh for around five days. The exact date will depend on the conditions in which you are storing your bread, temperature of your home, etc. Be cautious of consuming after day five.
